Chief Program Officer
As Chief Program Officer, Haidee is responsible for Change Machine’s financial security building strategies, including its national financial coaching programs, research initiatives, and policy work: impacting more than 100,000 individuals across 24 states. Haidee led the organization’s participation in the first randomized controlled trial of financial coaching with the Urban Institute/Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which showed statistically significant results from its financial coaching model.
Haidee sat on Prosperity Now’s Community Steering Committee and is a former member of the Internal Revenue Service Taxpayer Advocacy Panel. Haidee has supported two New York coalitions – the NY Asset Development Coalition and Cash Earners – that introduced four legislative bills, including one signed by Governor Cuomo in 2016 that allowed contributions to NY’s 529 program from tax refunds. To date, the policy has helped more than 3,000 tax filers put more than $2 million in education savings. The NY Stronger Nonprofits Campaign designated her a 2019 Notable Women in Human Services Hall of Fame.
Haidee has worked at WilmerHale LLP and FoodChange, where she supervised the largest free tax preparation site in the country and pro bono legal services. Haidee holds a JD/LLM from Cornell Law School and a BA from Columbia University. Staff threw a dim sum feast for her 40th birthday.
