Manager of Policy and Data


Emma joined Change Machine in March of 2020. In her role as Manager of Policy and Data, Emma utilizes data to inform and advocate for policies that support communities of color, especially Black and Brown women. 

Before joining the team, Emma worked as a Housing and Financial Counselor with East LA Community Corporation and led the First Time Home Buyer program, provided foreclosure prevention workshops and counseling, and participated in VITA. Emma was also instrumental in seeding the first community-led community land trust in Boyle Heights. 

Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Irvine and received her Master of Arts in Chicana and Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys playing Son Jarocho, listening to an array of music, and reading.
